As part of our mission to provide access to the Hudson River for all, the Hudson Sloop Club manages the commercial dock located at the Riverfront Park. We have managed this dock for the City of Hudson since 2021. This agreement is voted on annually and the full agreement can be read here.
Through this arrangement, we have created regular programming, such as free boat rides during Waterfront Wednesdays and hosted many unique vessels such as Sloop Clearwater, the Impossible Dream catamaran, HRMM’s Solaris, the BMM’s Seneca Chief, the traveling circus Flotsam, Riverkeeper’s Science Vessel the Bob Boyle and many more.
We also provide access for seasonal tenants, currently a seasonal lease agreement is in place with Schooner Apollonia. Are you interested in bringing a vessel to Hudson? If so please reach out!
The commercial dock on the Hudson Waterfront is a valuable public resource, and we are honored to steward it.
Which dock does the Hudson Sloop Club lease and operate?
We currently lease and operate the commercial dock, which is located directly on the river. The Hudson Sloop Club does not lease or manage the kayak docks located in the slips.
We do not manage the basin docks located directly south of the commercial dock. These docks are also city docks and are available for transient vessels to visit Hudson. There is no reservation needed, overnight docking is not permitted.
How do vessels gain access to the commercial dock?
Visiting vessels interested in docking at the commercial dock are encouraged to contact us at docks@hudsonsloopclub.org or call 518 303 6060. The standard dockage fee is $3/ft overnight. Each vessel must provide proof of liability insurance prior to docking. All rates were set by the Hudson City Council.
If a vessel is interested in offering a public program in exchange for a partial or full reduction in dockage fees, please reach out. We welcome those proposals.
