Through a grant from the NYS Department of Environmental Consideration and in partnership with the City of Hudson, the Hudson Sloop Club is excited to open the Everett Nack Estuary Education Center in June 2023. Named after Everett Nack, a local fisherman, naturalist, and advocate for the river. This converted cargo trailer is solar powered and equipped with microscopes, monitors, fishing gear and a fish tank to help everyone get to know the river inside and out. The Nack Center will be launched in June 2023 with an event looking at the American shad (Alosa sapidissima) is a migratory species that has a long history in the Hudson River. The center will be a part of our Waterfront Wednesdays. Stay tuned for more information!
